Qualified hairstylists in Swanage

Nicky: Hi, I’m Nicky, I am a Senior Director Stylist at Innovation and the salon owner and the Company’s Managing Director. I was trained by Roger Morgan, the Salon’s founder. I left the salon and moved to Portsmouth when I married a Swanage man, whose job was in the Royal Navy. I spent some years living and working in salons in Portsmouth and then returned to Swanage to live along with my husband and three children, when my husband retired from his naval career. I’m a State Registered Hairdresser and a Master Craftsman of my trade. I have owned this salon for 21 years and am still passionate about my craft, even after over 47 years in this industry! I love passing on my vast knowledge, gained through many years of experience within this industry to those joining it and watching them grow into such amazing hairdressers. I am immensely proud of all  my Team here at Innovation and the high standard of work they produce on our clients - It’s so rewarding.

I love to take time out from my responsibilities as a salon owner by chilling out abroad in the sun or to shop until I drop before having a nice lunch and then a trip to the theatre. I also love spending time with my family and five Grandchildren. 

Sal: Hi, I’m Sal and I am a Senior Director Stylist at Innovation and I started hairdressing because my school friend, Nicky, made it sound so interesting! I studied both hairdressing and beauty courses, full-time at college before I came to work at this salon and I’m still here, over 43 years later!  I am also trained as a teacher of my craft and taught hairdressing for many years at the local college in Bournemouth. I’m passionate about my craft, embracing new ideas and techniques.

I’ve two grown-up children, so now I have time to relax a little. Apart from doing this, I enjoy going on holidays to some exotic locations with my husband or meeting my old school friends every week.

Kirsten: Hi, I’m Kirsten and I’m Nicky’s daughter and a Senior Director Stylist at Innovation. Having watched my Mother over the years whilst I grew up, I too wanted to get trained in the hair and beauty domains. At 13, I became a Saturday girl at the salon but also wanted to undergo beauty training. I studied beauty full-time at college before coming back to the salon to do my hairdressing Apprenticeship. After completion of my training, I worked at other salons to gain more experience. I came back here to help out my Mother and have been working here ever since. I am also a Qualified Assessor, so I am very involved in the training and assessing of our Apprentices at the salon. I am also now studying my Advanced Assessors training. I’m passionate about my craft and love doing hair colouring and bridal and prom hair in particular.  I am also qualified and licensed by Dorset Council, to do nose and ear piercings and have been piercing for over 15 years now. 

I love pugs and also cars, knowing a lot more about cars than a lot of men I know! I just love to go on holidays in the sun when I can and so love being a Mum to my son and daughter.

Kira: Hi, I’m Kira and a Master Stylist at Innovation. I trained here at the salon and having gained both my NVQ 2 and NVQ 3, I am now a very busy Stylist at the salon. I lead and co-ordinate in all wedding bookings and also provide nail and beauty services. I also do a lot of the Creative Colouring in the salon, which I really enjoy doing.

Outside of work, I love to spend time with my boyfriend and our dogs and also love to go shopping!

Tamzin: Hi, I’m Tamzin and an Advanced Stylist at Innovation. Having completed my apprenticeship here at Innovation, I  have also gone on to complete my Level 3 Advanced qualification now too. I love doing colouring and often assist other stylists in the larger appointments such as Creative Colouring and Brazilian Blowdrys, as well as doing my own clients too. I am also very involved in our wedding bookings and really enjoy doing hair up for special occasions. I am also qualified and licensed by Dorset Council, to do nose and ear piercings and I love doing it too!

Out of work I enjoy spending time with my boyfriend and my family and just love to go shopping!

Anne: Hi, I’m Anne and have recently completed my Apprenticeship here at Innovation and am now a fully qualified Stylist and doing my own clients. I am now studying to complete the Advanced Level 3 qualification. I am really enjoying all aspects of working in the Hairdressing Industry. Since starting at Innovation I have also qualified in doing nails and really enjoy doing manicures.

Out  of work, I love spending time with my friends and family. I also love being outdoors, including camping, walking and on the beach.

Leah: Hi, I’m Leah and a Junior Stylist at Innovation. I am now in the second year of my apprenticeship and I’m really enjoying it!  I now offer some services here at Innovation, in the areas I am now qualified in. I really enjoy putting hair up for special occasions.  I’m also doing some colour work and blow drys too, which I also really enjoy. I am now also qualified and licensed by Dorset Council to do nose and ear piercings and I am really enjoying doing it too! 

Outside of work, my hobbies are dancing and spending time with my friends and family.
